Self portrait

And last but not least, I guess I’m getting back into oil painting too, and after a bunch of frustrating failures I was able to make a decent portrait, in this case a self portrait!
Oil on Linen, 11x17

Goldfishes

It took me a while to figure out this illo, but I was quite happy in the end. I actually started with acrylics this time but ended up doing lots of digital painting. The whole process gave me a good notion of how to integrate both digital and traditional media for upcoming pieces and that was rewarding!
Based on the beautiful story “Where their fire is not Quenched” by May Sinclair. Acrylic & digital. 11 X 16

Harley Davidson

This was an interesting collaborative project between the SCAD illustration and advertising departments, I was in charge of creating an illustration for a Harley Davidson campaign, this was the final result!  Digital, 36 x 19 ”

The last few Kilometers

Piece I did based on the short story “The Last Few Kilometers”  by Leonid Tsypkin
Beautifully written story, not so great image…but still part of the process.
Digital, 10 X 17”

Ricky

Here’s another portrait I did from good mate Ricky Havok!  Digital, 11x15, 2013
